ABL teams resume battle this weekend
The second-placed Philippine Patriots entertain third-placed Satria Muda BritAma this Saturday at 4pm at the San Juan Arena.
The Philippine Patriots come off a 73-63 win over the KL Dragons last weekend at the MABA Stadium on November 15th. The KL Dragons put up a tough fight, only allowing the Patriots to secure their win in the final quarter of the match. Philippine Patriot’s will be relying on top scorers Brandon Powell and Jason Dixon to bring them their fifth win.
Satria Muda BritAma will be looking to get back on track after their heartbreaking loss to Singapore Slingers on November 14th at the BritAma Arena. Satria Muda’s Alexander Gordon Hartman, who is currently the season leader with 121 personal points, will be leading team mates Rensy Morales Bajar, Nakiea Miller in search of their fourth win.
The Thailand Tigers are looking for revenge at home against the Brunei Barracudas this weekend. The Tigers went down 86–91 to the Brunei Barracudas last weekend at the Brunei Indoor Stadium.
The Barracudas initially fell behind, ending the third quarter eight points down, but with Reggie Larry leading the Barracudas with 32 personal points, they made a complete turnaround in the fourth quarter to take the match.
The Tigers, who are now last in 6th place, are looking for their second win and will look to top scorers Attaporn Lertmalaiporn (78 personal points) and Chaz Twain Briggs (72 personal points and 53 rebounds) for inspiration.
The Singapore Slingers will be looking to maintain their lead in the league standings against fifth placed KL Dragons on Sunday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The Slingers will be strengthened by the return of backup point guard Wong Wei Long who was previously down with chicken pox.
Fellow Slinger Lim Wai Sian, who was also down with chicken pox, returns to practise today and his participation in the match will be decided on game day.
Starting Slinger point guard Al Vergara has also fully recovered from his injury and the Slinger team returns to full strength this weekend.
Let’s hope that Satria Muda beat the Patriots so that they will not drop to 4th place.
The philippine humiliated the visiting satria muda by almost 20pts. I did not bother to finish watching the game as the lead reach by 30pts plus in the third quarter. Miller was absent. The patriots just toyed them. That is the reason the filipinos do not like abl because of this incompetency of some other team.
