This is the beauty of this league compared to the SEABA tournament for national teams because it somehow got some sort of balance due to the presence of imports or foreign players.

I expect the Patriots to lose some games because of that so called “balance” so to me this is just fine. Besides it makes that league more exciting because it means that anyone has a chance because as an old Filipino saying goes “the ball is round.”

I also noticed that a lot of the fans here still has that national team like mentality, but keep in mind that this is a club league. If this is a national team match-up, then Brunei won’t have the likes of Don Camaso and Kiko Adriano. It is like saying that the Toronto Raptors of the NBA is the team for Canada.

In addition, I don’t think Smart-Gilas (Philippine NT) would benefit from joining the ABL even though they play with FIBA rules, but the level of competition in PBA is (I think) in fact still much higher than the ABL as of this time. No disrespect to ABL, but PBA still has the best local players from Southeast Asia. However, the ABL can catch up quickly because the PBA’s direction seemed to be back-tracked from its old practice because of the current commissioner.

Hanoi: Mart,2007 jones cup USA team is consist of ncaa div 1 player,they are not thrash out by other team, while if giving another 2 minutes RP could have lost that game

Adobo: i knew aquino is 6′9, i often saw him, when he playing for Falcons. Insted of Saying 6ft, i just wrote 7ft which more closer to 6″9.

sending gilas defeates the purpose of the team…remember gilas is supposed to be playing for national colors and playing in this league may not help th eteam at all due to the reliance on two imports and the ABL hasnt really proven anything yet besides that it was featured in the FIBA tv

quit talking about nonsense. haha… it is about time that Filipinos wake up. They should have sent Smart Gilas instead of Patriots in the ABL. In that way, young players will get the chance to play internationally and they can gain valuable expriences. However, they will be scouted but at least they gained exprience. That is the best teacher.
