For newbies(if you come to appreciate this sport in the last 5 years) in the sport of basketball for one being born with a basketball uniform and short and ball and shoes. Basketball is a physical game, for one this rarely is a sport for dwarfs and ultra thin nerds. So when you talk about being rugged try watching FIBA(Euro) games and you will know that ‘being gentle’ is not a good tactic to use when faced with burly, bearded, furry, gigantic, husky, big and powerful players, otherwise you better pull out your best boardgame(snakes and ladders anyone?). Check out the Olympics and go back in time and watch the games Dream team 3 vs. Euro not to mention Argentina and you will see what we mean. Amateur rules are more ‘barbaric’ than pro basketball..oops sorry for the term but it is so the word ‘Dirty basketball’ has no place in this sport. Just my two cents

@maz.. if you really think your smb is a good team then ask yourself this.. why do they need a bajar to start the game for them on every game when theyre suppose to be the champion on your league.

Disregard earlier losses?
In the first win, the Patriots didn’t have their real coach, your team did; Patriots were formed just 6 weeks (I think); your team was 1 of 2 teams established for years already; Patriots were still sorting out their line-ups, your team with the exception of the said import (ah, the overreliance on imports) was already set; and you have the best import in the league since day one, Alex Hartman, the Patriots have Dixon and Powell who (with all due respect to them), are the least skilled of ALL the imports.
I’ll end it with this: weather a team wins by 1 point or 20, weather a team loses by 1 point or 20, a win is still a win, a loss is still a loss.

SMB first lost to patiots played by previous import,the second time miller was not able to play, its only 3rd time they met but SMB give a good fight. Disregard 2 earlier loss.

@Maz Yes, the Patriots are not a good team….in Filipino standards.. Hell we have lots better teams and players in the Philippines yet we sent this to compete in the ABL.. And look where we are in the standings..

But saying we got lucky in our wins is wrong.. 3 times against SMB is luck?? Please Maz.. Or should I say Hanoi?? Hihihi..;p

Patriots is not a dirty team.. But some of them can play dirty given the situation.. Filipinos play physical ball.. If other teams don’t want to get hurt, then play chess instead..

They were lucky 3 times? Even when they beat your team on your team’s homecourt? Wow, what luck they have.
Some people really are just sore losers; looking for any kind of excuses and insults ’cause they know that is all they can do because their team can’t beat the other team.

@maz, you havnt answered my questions yet, but i can tell that you have limited english skills so here it is again.. if patriots is a bad team then what do you call a team they trashed 3 times in a row?

now regarding playing dirty if you watched the first abl game between smb and patriots its the flagrant foul by faisal that cost you the ballgame.

@MAz- If they are dirty players, then why the referees and ABL officials allowed it?Cmon, you should be helluva better than them.What is your reputation Man? if your not playing physical basketball,it is better for your SMB to play netball instead, i think you will have a good fight with singapore, we are not interested in it. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
