Thanks for the exclusive insight.

It was something worth discussing abt, regard to the basketball scene in SEA, particularly Singapore, where there are many many passionate people when it comes to major sports events. 09/10 ABL Season was a maiden run, will and can only get better.

For myself, well, I just cannot wait for the new season to start.

Cheers.

I think coach Frank will be back in the ABL. Probably in the next two years or so. Might be coaching the Slingers again, or may be coaching another existing ABL team, or an expansion team. Who knows?

no disrespect to Les' and Koh's writing ability, but i think the title is taken out of context. it talks about Marcus Ng's role in the Slingers as an import.. not what coach Arsego thinks on having imports.

anyway, i agree that Singapore basketball has major cultural issues to hurdle. sport is never a high priority in Southeast Asia for that matter, it's just that certain sports have had generous people who have transformed a "recreation" into a profitable industry where kids aspire to get paid playing sports.

there's a book coming out this June, Pacific Rims by Rafe Bartholomew... hope you get ideas on how to create a culture of basketball.
